A little bit about me/the person behind the camera

I’m Ali, a photographer based in rural Mid-Wales. I am passionate about telling a story through my work - I’m drawn to the details; the morning light across a kitchen table, muddy boots by the door, hands that are crafting, a well-loved room, a landscape beyond the window… the things that might otherwise go unnoticed, but somehow tell you everything.

My photography is natural, considered and quietly editorial. It’s not about making things look perfect, it’s about them feeling real - the atmosphere, the textures, all those small imperfections that make a person, or a place, or a small business what it is.

I work with people, brands, creatives, makers and beautiful places across Wales, Herefordshire & the borders, creating images that tell that sense of place and stori that is truly our own.

And when I’m not photographing? Well, you’ll often find me with my head in a book, a cup of tea at my side, or maybe somewhere romping through the countryside or exploring independent shops & coffee houses. Whatever I am doing, I hope I’m surrounded by my family.

They are where this all began… and will forever be my favourite reason to pick up the camera.

Because, for me, the best photographs don’t just show you what something looked like, they make you feel like you are there.
